NovaWurks is seeking an enthusiastic multi-disciplined and skilled Systems Engineer to join a highly creative, motivated and talented group of engineers. Our team is responsible for developing and innovativing our SLEGO™ modules and conformal spacecraft. The ideal candidate is skilled in the spacecraft system design, highly detailed, self-motivated with a strong innovation orientation, works well in a collaborative team environment, knowledgeable in radio frequency analysis, and capable of managing several programs simultaneously.

  • Developing and maintaining system architectures/concept of operations.
  • Assisting with program management.
  • Monitor the performance of our systems and be able to spot potential issues.
  • Perform trade studies, develop and interpret requirements and interfaces.
  • Analyze and model spacecraft concepts for design reference missions.
  • Plan and Develop Independent Test Validations & Verifications (IV&V).
  • Develop Risk Management Plans.
  • Manage systems change processes.
  • Create radio frequency analyses/link budgets for software defined radios and ground station equipment. Candidate will be point of contact for spectrum allocation licensing efforts.
  • Assist with program management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics OR 4 years of experience in Engineering.
    • Note: New/recent graduates will be considered if they can demonstrate exemplary capabilities and experience implementing electronics designs in school or personal projects in lieu of professional experience.
  • General knowledge of orbital mechanics and mission design.
  • Multidisciplinary experience in designing space systems and performing quantitative trade studies.
  • General knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and spacecraft functionality.
  • Ability to create test plans and conduct end to end testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • 1+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Prior experience in Spacecraft/Satellite/Aerospace Industries.
  • Experience in developing models and simulations in MATLAB or equivalent.
  • Experience in vibration testing.
  • Experience in mechanical design process.
  • Experience with control algorithms in aerospace and satellite systems.
  • Experience in programming for both modeling and data processing applications.
  • Familiarity with front end communications hardware: antennas, filters, amplifiers, mixers.
  • Familiarity with signal analysis tools, i.e. spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, SDRs, Signal generators.
  • Link budgets and performance modeling.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • “Can do” attitude in an “innovate space” development atmosphere.
  • Self-awareness; not afraid to ask for help or admit error.
  • Ownership, Initiative, and Accountability.
  • Flexibility in a range of responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn from failure.
